HOOOVER VS. ALEXANDER
The Hoover bucks ran away with the game against Alexander, in the first annual MLK National showcase beating them 78-55. Jarett Fairley scored 19 points Salim London scored 20 points and Dwayne Brown chipped in with 14 points.
NORCROSS VS. THOMPSON
Norcross took on Thompson beating them 66-51. Thompson just ran out of gas at the end. Lamariyon Jordan led all scorers with 21 points. Thompson Xzayvion Childress 12 points.
ARCHER VS. BUCKHORN
Archer went down to the wire versus Buckhorn beating them 50-48 Caleb Holt had a game winning shot came up short. Kahmare Holmes led all scorers with 19 points. Caleb Holt finished with 13 points 13 rebounds 4 blocks and 4 assisting 4 steals.
COTTAGE HILL VS. WEST MORGAN
Cotton Hill take on West Morgan and NFL great Trend Differ was in the stands to watch Cotton Hill. Cotton Hill ran away with the game from the jump beating West Morgan 63-49 The Double Trouble twins led their team to victory. Tyler Thomas 17 points and 10 rebounds and twin brother Trent Thomas 16 points and 10 rebounds. West Morgan Carson Muse scored 23 points and seven rebounds.

Loganville, GA – A week into the New Year, and the fireworks were still going off on the hardwood.
Grayson hosted its annual New Year’s Classic and it lived up to many expectations. Every game built up to the next big moment. Teams and players came into this event looking to show out. The games did not disappoint.
Fans were treated to an overtime matchup, a final second game-winner, and where teams exploded for tremendous performances in the second half. Read the re-caps below.

The Big South Shootout showcase took place at Newton High. Featuring some of the top teams, players and coaches around I20 east.
Pinson Valley Indians finish 14-0 to close out ‘2022 with an emphatic win over Grovetown 77-55.
Putnam trailed by 12 after 3rd quarter. Outscored Social Circle in the 4th quarter by 29-11. They really turn up their defensive pressure in the final period. Georgia Southern signee Eren Banks went for 28 pts. Social Circle had four players in double figures. Putnam won their game against Social Circle 74 -68. Keyni Crawford chipped in with 18 points.
Westside was on cruise control beating Mays 64 41. Eastside won their game against Butler 57 30. Newton took care of business against Dougherty 74 57. Alcovy take another step toward 500. winning their game against Glenn Hills 65 58.

Marietta, GA – The growth of basketball in Georgia continues to shining a spotlight on the state across the Southeast. High school programs are eager to test themselves against Peach State teams.
Western High came into the state looking for a test. The Louisville, KY based program had a chance to exhale after beating Etowah, 55-51, to win the Lemon Street Classic at Marietta High. Western improved to 11-1.
While the Warriors put together a solid team effort there were some individual performances which stood out. Trent Hinkle’s energy was next level good. He was active and talkative disrupting Etowah’s offensive flow at times. His court vision helped open up ample scoring opportunities for the Warriors.
Leading Western in scoring was Julius Edmonds, who finished with 17 points. Jayden Miles had 14 points.
Etowah took advantage of some scoring opportunities, especially the attention Brandon Rechesteiner. The Virginia Tech signee finished with a game-high 20 points. Mason Etter chipped in with 12 points. Dimitri Angelakos added 11 points.

Most importantly to raise awareness to social injustices. McDonough took care of business versus Tucker 88 67. McDonough was led by Da'vion Thomas 18 points 7 rebounds and 6 assist Avante Nichols 18 points 7 rebounds Eagles had four players in double figures. Eagles Landing had no trouble with Hillgrove beating them 74 43 David Thomas led Eagles Landing with 15. McEeachern came back in the 2nd half to pick up the win against Jonesboro 68-58. PACE finishes Strong. With TEAM effort in a 68 58 win over Langston Hughes. Eric Chatfield Jr led Pace in scoring 17 points and 7 assists. Kell won a close one vs Green forest 55-50. Wheeler came up short against Columbus 73-70. Top ranked 2025 Cameron Boozer and his twin brother 4-star Cayden Boozer took over Battle in the Peach. Five-star Isaiah Collier (USC) commit, and Iowa State commit Jelani Hamilton played well.
Christian Anderson Jr. went head-to-head with Kansas State commit Darrin Ames. Hard fought game! All the way to the end. Lovett made key plays, to give Kenwood their first loss of the season.

COLUMBIA, SC – The second leg of the Independent Hoops made a stop in South Carolina. Players ascended from the Palmetto State and its surrounding areas.
Each of them came prepared to show just how talented this camp would be. There is a list of players who will soon be remembered for the work they showcased on the hardwood.
Here are some names to track moving forward.
Russ White | 2024 | Cardinal Newman | had a dominating performance throughout camp. The 6-foot-3 forward has a college-ready body and a high motor. His energy was contagious as the other players were forced to match it or they would lose out against him. He showed versatility in being able to guard all five positions on the floor. White put the ball on the floor and helped just get the offense going too. His court vision was impressive and precise. He also showed the ability to score on all three levels of the floor. This lefty is the kind of player who could fit any collegiate program. His attitude is to win and contribute by any means necessary.
Quavon Henry | 2024 | Cross Creek | showed off a competitive swag to his game. The Cross Creek High product shot the ball really well. He got to the rim with ease too. Most of his moments looked effortless. Being able to get to the basket allowed him to get off a fluid mid-range jumper. His explosive first step made it hard for opponents to stay with him. He also has solid court vision being able to put teammates into scoring positions.
Phillip McLean | 2024 | Carolina Forest | is an exceptional two-sport athlete. He is an offensive lineman on Friday nights and a nimble center on the hardwood. His impact is immediately noticed when the ball is thrown into him. This 6-foot-5 interior beast has great feet and soft but secure hands. If a defender, regardless of height, is caught behind him McLean will win that matchup. One he has an array of impressive moves making defenders helpless. He runs the floor and is capable of finishing in transition at 250 pounds. McLean pancakes defenders on the gridiron and does the same with screens in pick-and-roll action. This young man will be pursued both sports just look at the footage.
